I am from Romania, currently living in Portugal. I've been studying graphic arts at Fine Arts University ´George Enescu ´ from Iasi, Romania then a year later I had a year of communication design at ETIC, Lisbon, Portugal.

Your Story

Generally I am interested in illustration, graphic design and comics, then more as a hobby would be street art and painting but this two can go easily as professional fields.

Since I was a child I knew I had the ability to draw and create images, it was when I was fourteen years old that I decided to enroll into the arts high school and later in the university years I realized illustration and design is what I want to do for a living.

What does art and design means to you?

Art and design are basically my life. Most of the arts , are my passion , some are hobbies and some are my job.

How would you define your personal style?

I think I've got a lot of influences from vintage comics and illustration.

Also, I really like the aesthetic of engravings. However I could never really enjoy the engraving techniques so I passed to different techniques.

What is the process of your work? What kind of materials do you use?

Depending on the deadline , mood and sometimes requests the process of my work differs. Mostly I get to make preliminary sketches, then when I fell like getting closer to the subject I pass to a final draw which usually is Chinese black ink on paper. Generally I put the color in a digital software such as Photoshop or Open Canvas.

How do you get your inspiration?

I get my inspiration from many sources. A principal source can be outside my working desk, on the street, the people I meet and looking around. Also I enjoy a lot the film composition, the light, the shades, the colors. More and more I feel a visual connection with vintage films which I believe shows in my work.

What is your most critical challenges in your work?

Sometimes can be really tight deadlines. Sometimes can be some difficult clients who see illustrators just as the hand that can put down their ideas. The challenge comes when what they wanted and what you understood they wanted are two different scenarios and the project might start all over again.

What are some of your goals?

Seeing my illustration as a cover for a magazine. Publishing a book of illustrations, working for some of the big brands…

What is your dream?

My dream is continuing doing what I do and get the best of it.

What is your motto in your work and life?

"I am a story teller that tries to put into illustration dreams and stories."
